Rendsburg
Today it's only a short stretch to Rendsburg. Since it will be quite uncomfortable on the Elbe tomorrow, we will stay on the canal for another night.
We set off shortly after nine with our neighbors already gone.
Not a lot of traffic, but lots of people using the pleasant weather walking or
cycling along the canal.
Shortly before Rendsburg we come across a catamaran traveling all over the place with a dog
swimming in the water next to it. Perhaps this is the "disoriented" cat that the lock master
was talking about yesterday.
With plenty of space on the jetty, we quickly find a box for ourselves. There's a bit of a wind
blowing now, but not a lot of that reaches us in the marina and it still feels like summer, even
with my cold.
First thing after arriving we go into town. A sandwich for lunch at the bakery, a quick stroll
through the supermarket, some cake for the afternoon. Back on board we continue working on some
more of the unifinished projects. Cutting side cushions for the saloon, backstay sled for the
solar arch, scrubbing the deck, securing the shroud's turnbuckles, connecting the WiFi antenna,
...
During the afternoon the dog catamaran arrives as well. First he manages to get the pilings between his two hulls a couple of times. At last he makes it into the berth and with combined effort is tied up to the jetty. Good, that there's a bit of distance between us.
For dinner we treat ourselves to a pizza from a local delivery service. Unfortunately that pizza was a bit of a disappointment. Very bready dough and overall very greasy. Also, I cannot understand why so many pizza deliveries use gouda instead of mozzarella.
